Ming Pottery Shard Teal and Orange Necklace
A Ming pottery shard, with the loveliest shades of teal and orange, is adorned with my signature hand applied Swarovski crystals. A small Czech glass floral bead dangles below. I've paired it with orange Botswana agate, magnesite turquoise rounds, natural cream colored stone beads, and sparkly Swarovski crystals.
After the cultural revolution in China that spanned from 1959-1961, many Chinese artifacts were destroyed. These shards were unearthed from an archaeological dig of an old porcelain factory that operated approximately 100-300 years ago. Many of these beautiful pieces were once teapots, vases, urns, or cups. The shards are encased in a silver colored bezel which is comprised of a brass and silver alloy. Finished off with a sterling silver hook style closure. Total length is approx. 17 1/2" (44.45 cm), with the pendant drop falling approx. 1 1/2" (3.81cm). This necklace is part of my limited edition Ming Spring Collection.
