Ming Pottery Shard Necklace
A Ming pottery shard with the image of a green dragon has been accented with a sterling silver wire wrapped chain, consisting of turquoise nuggets, green jasper beads, and white milky quartz beads. The sterling silver chain is secured with a lobster style clasp clasp and 1" extender chain, finished off with a turquoise nugget dangle. Total length is approx. 17" ( 43.18cm).
After the cultural revolution in China that spanned from 1959-1961, many Chinese artifacts were destroyed. These shards were unearthed from an archaeological dig of an old porcelain factory that operated approximately 100-300 years ago. Many of these beautiful pieces were once teapots, vases, urns, or cups. This shard is encased in a silver colored bezel which is comprised of a brass and silver alloy.
